Make Sure You’ll Make Your Profit!

One of the questions you might have with this is: how do you protect yourself from having it sold for less than what you’re actually going to be able to buy it for? That is a big concern.

That’s one way to do this - you actually have it all on your web site but then you just let other people link to it and use it. They can say they have a discussion forum that people can visit and participate in.

Here’s another way you could do this! With today’s technology I am sure it may already be happening somewhere. Certainly it is possible, I’m sure. You could make some kind of auto-duplicating discussion forum where different web site owners would pay you, and then automatically through this special software you would create a header...some kind of banner on the discussion forum that displays their web site’s name instead of yours.

I’ve never seen this actually done with discussion forums, but I know that the software does exist that allows a web page to be automatically created with the same text and a different web site’s name at the top. I’ve seen it done for different offers. I know the software is available that does it. I am sure it would be available to be adapted to discussion forums, too.

It is certainly an idea that I believe would work for discussion forums. It would provide the valuable content to thousands of other web sites because they would be allowed to link in with that, and for a small fee every month (say $20 or $25, you could set it at whatever you want) they would be able to create an automatic page where they would benefit from your discussion forum that contained all of the same discussions and all of the same text, but they would have it appear that it would be coming from them exclusively. This way, when their customers see that it looks like it is a part of their web site, naturally, those customers keep coming back to that web site again and again to visit that discussion forum and participate.

It would allow the web site owners to advertise that they have that discussion forum and it is a great piece of content to have on their web site to use to keep customers coming back again and again.

You could make thousands of dollars a month just by charging an ongoing monthly fee to the web sites who want to benefit from having your discussion forum on their web site, or by using the special software!

The Power Of Shareware.com!

First we recommend you get some E-book software. You might think it would be really, really expensive. But there is a magical little place called Shareware.com. It’s www.shareware.com that you can go to with any web compliant browser, and they’ve got a search window.

If you just type in the word e-book you will see a selection of a wide variety, of not only sample books that you can download and read and see how they look, but also software for creating those books. And the software is shareware.

Shareware, to anybody who is new to computers, is simply software that the publisher of the software decided to let you try before you buy. You can actually download the software, install it, use it on your computer at will, and if you like the software you pay the author.

Some shareware will be what they call “crippleware” or crippled, which means they only work for thirty days. Or it might not allow you to publish the book you’ve created and actually distribute it in a form that you can easily distribute. It may only be readable inside the program until you pay them. But shareware is notoriously inexpensive. We’ve found publishing software for e-books as lowas $50 in the shareware market and they’re excellent. It’s a great way to create e-books.

Now, to create an e-book, of course, this is a great way to distribute works. You can buy the rights to other people’s already published books and manuals, and create e-books. You can write your own, if you’ve got one.

You could interview an expert on a subject, transcribe the recording, and then publish the manuscript that results from that as an e-book. You can then take these (This creates an easy to distribute software file that can be transmitted from computer to computer using the Internet,) and you can then offer these books for sale. And the beauty of this is, they are very easy to set up on a web site so that people can pay you, and automatically download the e-book, and read it online, or print it out to read later.

You can also set up an even simpler way to sell them - by e-mail! You can literally send out e-mail offering the e-book for sale, and deliver the e-book as a file attachment when they pay you. Or, deliver the e-book as a file attachment in an e-mail message that is sent to people who buy it from your web site. There are any number of ways you can do this.

You can literally build up an entire catalog of books, and be a book publisher. And there is no paper involved, there is no 48 printing involved, you don’t have to ship anything, and you’re entirely using the Internet to even promote and sell the books.

It’s part of the revolution. It’s where we’re heading. People love these, too. This is a growing market in the Internet today. Making your copy believable is the one thing that you can do to make sure that your sales package NEVER FAILS! It’s so simple — and it really works! Strive for believability. It is the most important asset you can have.

In order to gain believability, you have to tell the full sales story, do everything you can to prove that your product is a bargain, and real. You have to prove that what you’re saying really is true. The prospects have to be able to believe it, and you should always try to look at your copy through your prospect’s eyes. This is sometimes hard to do, but you have to try for it.

Prospects are skeptical. If they are good prospects, then everyone is trying to sell them something. The best prospects have, in most cases, been ripped off a time or two. You have to get them to believe that what you have is good.

You have to build a strong case for your product in much the same way as a lawyer builds a case for a client. The lawyer searches for all the evidence that they can find that supports the client’s innocence and then try to 58 give as much proof as they possibly can in order to gain that “innocent” verdict.

You should show proof in as many ways as you can with as much documentation as you can. Back up your words with proof. Some examples you can use are:

The problem is getting people to click on that banner, because there are a lot of banners out there. You need to trick people into reading your banner ad. Not only that, but there is even one more step – how to trick them into clicking on it, because even if they read it, if they don’t click on it it’s not going to take them to your site.

The real trick is to make a banner ad look like part of a web site. It’s that simple. That’s one of the best tricks we’ve seen. Make it look like a bar, or a miniature windows-style button or window into a little piece into another program. The best way to do that is to use a form with “click here” buttons or like actual check boxes you can click on.

For example, this is a neat banner ad we’ve seen used before. It asks, “How much do you want to make? Click here.” Along the bottom of the banner ad is $10,000 with a little box beside it, $25,000, $100,000, $1 Million, with little boxes beside them. It actually entices the reader -“Well I want to make $1 Million.”

It doesn’t matter which box they click on, it doesn’t matter if they missed the box entirely, now they’re clicking on your banner. It takes them to your web site, where it starts telling them how they can make $10,000, $25,000, or even $1 Million by following these instructions.

So you design the ad to actually entice the user into clicking there, or to make it looklike a scroll down window with text under it, and they have to click on the little scroll bar to read more.

This is another neat trick - the text is an enticing message like, “I’m going to give you all the tips and tricks on how you can make more money next year – it’s really easy, all you have to do is…” And the text ends there. There’s a little scroll bar along the side there like you see on so many web sites or on programs that you run on your computer and you click on the little scroll bar to try to read more. What it does, you’re clicking on the banner to read more, and it takes them to the web site where they can read more. Again, it’s tricking them into it, getting them to actually participate and actually click on the ad.

The real trick, though, is you also have to make that banner attract their attention, so you want to work some of the other neat tricks in for catching the eye, making them see it and read it. For this, one of the best techniques, one of the highest-rated techniques we’ve seen, is some form of animation. That really helps. For example, a simple flashing background color, or a word or two that flashes is very nice, because if that banner appears on someone else’s web site with 5 other banners on that same page, yours has something flashing. It automatically attracts the eye. We’re attracted to flashing and glimmers and movement of some kind.

A little more complex technique is to actually change the copy. You can have copy scroll up and finish a sentence, or words that flash up half a sentence and then flash again and change to the other half of the sentence. It’s not much harder than making a flashing background or color, but you basically have two banners that swap out in an animation sequence.

Again, this actually allows you to get more information and more enticing sales copy into a very small space which is all you’ve got with a banner. But it also attracts the eye, so it kills two birds with one stone.

Even more complex, if you’re daring or you want to pay someone to do it, is some kind of moving characters or actual animation – something that runs across the banner. For example, on the checklist form we covered earlier, we’ve seen these checklists with an actual pointer, similar to the cursor you see on your screen, moving from check box to check box. That way, it’s actually telling you to check here, or check here, or check here. It’s also attracting your eye, telling you what to do, and you tend to follow it and click on one of them.

We have seen these techniques increase response to a banner ad from 30% to 75% - that much increase in the number of people who actually click on the banners and move to your web site through them.

These key words work in sales literature, and these same key words work in banner ads marvelously. There are a few of them that always attract the eye and always make someone want to click to see what is behind them.

One of those words, of course, is a four letter word – FREE. Anything free is going to be attracting to people. Anything you can give people free in return for clicking here, you’ll increase the number of people who actually see the banner and click on it. The other word is WIN. People like to find out how they can win things because, again, it implies that they are free.

EARN MORE has been proven in banner ad after banner ad to generate more click-throughs. The other one, believe it or not, is dollar signs. Any dollar signs on a banner ad can increase the click-through rate, which means the number of people that see the banner and actually click on it.

How To Make Money With NO PRODUCT!

The beauty of selling advertising is there is no product. There are really no customers. You just have a few sponsors you deal with. You don’t have shipping and receiving, merchant accounts, packaging, UPS, returns, and all of the tasks you do when you sell a product.

We sell products, so it’s not the end of the world to have to do all of that. We do it here, and it’s part of business. But the dream of every marketer is to have some simple product - something that makes money without all of that baggage.

That’s how these advertisements are. You are basically selling electrons. It’s amazing!

You can do this! You don’t have to have a joke-of-the-day, but some of the other entertainment and fun services and markets that we have noticed are 1) horoscopes. I know people that check their horoscope every single day. It is like the joke-of-the-day where you reach them 365 times a year. That’s a lot of impressions - and you can sell advertising.

There is software that you can get for free or almost free that will put the horoscopes on your site. A lot of people are adding this to their site. They don’t necessarily have anastrology site, but they just put the horoscope on there as part of the site. One site that does this, for example, is a match site where you match up with people. It is not an adult thing in any way. It is very wholesome. They have a horoscope on there that says, “Check your love compatibility horoscope.”

Speaking of matchmaking. There are two web sites, match.com and matchmaker.com, that both sold recently. One sold for $70,000,000.00 ... and it was selling a matchmaking service! I believe it was $39.95, and they were signing up 10,000 customers a week. So this sale was to buy this up and running business with the cash flow. But it is entertainment and fun. Nothing serious about it. No product delivered. All electrons.

A friend of ours has a website where he reviews wines. He’s finally loading the photos in there. He has the Sony Mavica camera, which he bought it at Office Depot. He snaps a picture, he pulls out a disk, he loads it into his computer, and BOOM the photo of the bottle of wine is on his site. Then he writes a short blurb.

The wines are written about in many magazines and newsletters. One man has a newsletter about wine. It is $40.00 a year, and he has thirty thousand subscribers and makes over a million dollars a year just writing about how tasty these wines are! And, all the wineries send him the wines for free.

Our friend’s site will be like that but it won’t be in print. It will be free, but he’ll sell advertising. Same idea.
