You can go to those web sites and make a deal with them. You can say, “Look, I would like to be a broker for your advertising. I can bring in some relatively large companies that would like to advertise on your site.” All you ask is a commission, maybe 10 or 15% for every ad that you get placed on that particular site.
If you set up only ten, twenty, or thirty of these sites focused on dog training and caring, then you can go to some of the larger companies like Petopia, Pets.com, or some of the larger companies that focus on selling to pet owners and go to them with a special offer.

The great thing about using a system like this is, once the contacts are made and you have them set up with the niche web sites that you want to focus on, selling the adver-tising is a very simple process. You go out, you make the special deal. Because you’re the broker, they will go ahead and send you the banner ad they want placed, or the copy that they want placed on a web site, ready to go.
You don’t do any of that. In fact, in many cases, they’ll just e-mail you the graphic they want placed along with the payment information. Make sure you get that. That’s very important to this process. Then you proceed. You’ve made the arrangements with those particular web sites, now you take that graphic and simply forward it in an e-mail to those web sites along with the payment that needs to be sent to them. And that’s it! By being a middleman you can literally run your business with a few e-mails, making some contacts with larger web sites and smaller web sites.
It’s a great way for you to make money selling Internet advertising without doing a lot of work. You don’t have to set up your own web site. You don’t have to focus on pulling in traffic. You don’t have to do all the hard work.

When a user on the Internet sends an e-mail to a certain e-mail address with a certain subject code on the subject line or a certain key word on the subject line, it automatically sends back a response. It allows you to create canned messages, if you will, that can be sent automatically.
That’s what we recommend to many of our customers to do. We’ve seen this happen many times, and done in the field many times. It is wonderful.
You start tracking what questions your customers are asking most often and just take the time to create a list of the most frequently asked questions. This is a lot easier than it seems. In fact, it will be a very valuable lesson for you. Learning what your customers are wanting and needing, to begin with is a good practice whether you’re going to use this technique or not.
Then, take your list of frequently asked questions, and create an auto responder message for each with a unique key word. Then you create an individual auto responder message that is in your menu, or a list of all the questions that you have available and the key words and addresses that they send the e-mail to, plus instructions on how to e-mail to get that response.
This allows you to offer what is referred to on the Internet as a FAQ (frequently asked questions) list that you can generate and update frequently and make available to your customers in all of your letters or any correspondence on your web site, where they can just send and get a list of all questions that can be answered. |

We have seen, particularly using an auto responder, savings of up to 50% on your customer service because now they are getting the questions answered when they want them answered. In the middle of the night - or whenever - and it is done automatically without the need for additional employees.
`If you don’t want to go to the trouble of setting up an auto-responder and all the technicalities that are associated with that, you can also set up a simple e-mail system yourself. Number the e-mails, just create them and save them as text files to match your menu, then just respond individually yourself by cutting and pasting that answer into the e-mail.
You can still do it yourself. It might delay the response a little bit. They might not get it immediately because you have to check into your e-mail.
This is a great way to get started with very little trouble. If it’s just you getting started on the kitchen table, for example, and you don’t have the technical expertise or don’t want to mess with an auto-responder at the time, this is a great way to go.
We know Internet service providers that charge a very minimal fee like $60 a year to set up an auto-responder for you. So it’s very inexpensive to set up and to operate. The savings can be tremendous. And, now you can actually advertise everywhere that you offer 24 hour round the clock customer service and mean it. |

This is how you can even make a profit on people who don’t buy from you! If that is the key to selling people you cannot sell, what is wrong with taking 50 percent of your competitor’s profits? First, you can get more customers to do business with you the first time. So right now, if you’re bringing in 1,000 customers a month, and you bring in 2,000 customers a month by changing your marketing system, you’ve doubled your business.
Second, you can sell to those customers more often. So right now, if the average customer buys from you twice a year, and you get that customer to buy from you four times a year, you’ve doubled your business. It’s just as simple and easy as that.
Third, you can sell those people higher priced items with bigger profit margins attached to those products and services. For instance, right now if the average sale you are making to your customers is $100, when you average out the number of customers you have and then you take your gross sales for that year, if you just increased that to $200 for the average sale, you’ve doubled your business.
And it’s really that simple. There are lots of different marketing strategies that can be used to bring about those three things, but once you realize how simple it is and that there are only three things, it makes your job so much easier. You can hone in on those three areas.

You can use it to attract new customers to your site, you can make them special offers and put sales materials there that is geared toward people who have never done business with you, you can use it to sell to people more often and just stay in touch with them.
Send them this simple post card that just compels them to go to your web site. That is the only purpose of the web card. You’re only trying to do enough to get them curious and go to your web site.
If you try to tell people too much on your card, then you give them no compelling reason to go to your site. You can send people a card every two weeks for dirt cheap, and get them to revisit your site for some kind of special offer. Make it secretive. Do it semi-blind - that’s what we call it - where all you’re really trying to do is just get them so curious they can’t wait to see what it’s all about. Then you can use this very simple web card to sell high priced offers to your customers.
Think about those little web cards as being something that gives you a tremendous amount of leverage. Your web site can contain huge amounts of sales material, but the actual card that you use to drive people to your site can be very, very small. But, these follow-ups really can be a double edged sword. If you use them right, they can really stuff your pockets with sales. But, if you abuse them, and don’t use them right, you can make some real enemies with automatic responders that have continuous follow-ups.
Generally the way to initiate the series of sales efforts, or follow-ups, is to offer something on your web site for free that people can get instantly. A free report, a free manual, - something of value. Something that says, “I’ll trade my e-mail address and information because I want to get this report.”
On one of our friend and associate’s sites, his birdtrainer.com site, he offers a free report that says “Secrets of Training Birds No Trainer Will Ever Tell You About.” If that’s a subject that interests you, then that is information you surely want to know. If no one will tell you, it teases them into giving their e-mail address. And, of course, the auto-responder instantly gives them the information. Here’s the secret of powerful follow-ups: First of all, don’t send sales letters. It’s the most logical thing in the world to say I can send them a whole series of sales letters. And we can assure you that they will not be read. They will not be as effective as other forms of communi-cation, and you will irritate the recipient.
If we sent five sales letters in the ten days following someone requesting that report, we would have all kinds of irate people saying take me off your list - and if they’re screaming “Take me off your list,” they are certainly not going to be buying.
You don’t send a series of sales letters. What you do send is a personalized conversational message that gets their attention and reminds them of your service.
The auto-responders that we use allow personalization. If a person signs up for the report and they put down that their first name is Don, then we can use their first name in the response automatically.
The first place to use their name is in the headline. The headline of the response should always use the name of the person to get their attention. We like to see them in print, and it also says it’s a personal correspondence not just a series of mail.
We use short headlines that aren’t necessarily benefit driven. They’re not sales headlines for the subject of the e-mail response. But, we use things that will get people’s attention. Our follow-ups are things like, “Hey George, I know you’re busy but...” Or “Sorry to bother you again, George, but...” Or “I know, George, you may think I’m crazy I’ve written so many times but...”
Those work because they don’t sound like typical sales letter approaches. People open them and we just have two or three lines in the message. |

I want to cover the 60 seconds it takes to make an impact and start making money on your web site. I say “60 Seconds” because we’re all television channel surfers, and now we’ve all become web site surfers.
You put in hours and hours of time and effort working on your meta-tags, search engines, advertising, go to ads, mail ads, postcards, and any other kind of advertising designed to get someone to your site.
The problem is, you only have about 60 seconds to grab their attention, make an impact, and hold them there so you can start making money. They only give you about one minute of their time and glance at your site. If there’s not something there that gets their interest - just like on T.V. - they’re going to click away or go somewhere else - and you’ve lost them! They may never come back!
Therefore, I want to discuss what to do to your site so that prospects will spend some time there and money there!

You don’t want a page that does nothing but show your logo. That’s a huge mistake! Thousands of web sites make this mistake - don’t follow in their footsteps!
Get right to the meat and potatoes. Put your menu up there! Show something! Start talking, or have some words... don’t just show off a big logo.
Next, I’d like to cover some things you can put on your site besides spinning globes and blinking graphics that people want to look at. One of these things is information. If you put something powerful right at the top that they’ll want to read, they’ll stop for a second and read it. If you can stop them long enough to read a sentence, maybe they’ll read a paragraph. If they read the paragraph, they might read your whole page and stay on your site.
One thing you can put up there is a headline. Another thing you can put up there is a tip - some kind of free advice. If you don’t have something of your own, you can put a quote there. It could be a quote from a famous person, or it could just be a quote out of a book. The quote should impart some advice that makes people nod their head and say, “That’s powerful!” |

There are other things that can bring people to your site over and over. Some sites have a daily horoscope, and if you want one, there are free services that will put one of these on your site for you that allows people to click on their zodiac sign and get their horoscope.
You could also get news that relates to your business or market. You can have it specifically tailored so you have news, weather, ski conditions, and other things like that people will come back and look at.

There will be tips from famous people - “famous stock market traders”- and he’ll have links where they can go and see graphs and charts, and get the latest news. Of course, he won’t put a horoscope on there, but he’ll have book reviews and such. When people go to the site after it’s finished, they’ll say, “Hey! This looks like a helpful site.” They might bookmark it.
If someone bookmarks your site you’ve got it made, because they can always come back just by going in and bookmarking it. You have something that makes them want to come back. It’s not just a sales pitch! If you can impart some valuable information of some kind, then you have a big jump on everyone else who’s just advertising. |

The way they did is was through using a tag line. Every time you sent e-mail to someone through Hotmail, at the bottom of your e-mail it would say you could get your own private, free e-mail at hotmail.com, with a link to Hotmail’s home page provided.
Think of all the times you get an interesting piece of e-mail. You pass it on or forward it to someone else. Well, one way you can really use this idea is, if you have a web site or own a business, start an e-mail newsletter. That way you can get subscribers to your e-mail newsletter. Every month or every week (however often you decide to send out the newsletter) you can, of course, have a tag line that gets them to go to your web site to visit a special. |

Of course, you’ll have your e-mail address so they can subscribe to the e-mail newsletter. It’s a great way to get a lot of people. With this, you have the possibility of that newsletter being passed along to thousands of other people. You’re just multiplying your exposure!
Tag lines are a wealth-building tool marketers have been using for years . . . and there’s almost nothing easier for a customer to use than an e-mail address or URL tag line. After all, all that customer typically has to do is simple click on it! They’re so simple to use, but, with the prospects you’re able to pull in because of their ease, they could lead you to big continual profits! |

The Four Opportunities

There are four places in a sales letter that you have to hook your customer and make them keep moving closer and closer to the sale! Many sales letters only contain 2 of these four things, and it is costing the business thousands of dollars in missed selling opportunities!
These four things that every sales letter must have are:
1. The Headline. The headline is the main attention-getter. It must reach out and grab the reader’s attention and make them want to read the sales letter! Almost every business is using headlines in the sales letters.
2. The Subheads. These are the smaller headlines that are placed throughout the sales letter. These serve two purposes. First, they help break up the copy. Subheads make the copy look easier to read, so the customer will more likely read it. Second, they help keep the reader’s attention. Subheads let them know what’s coming up. Subheads are not used by a lot of businesses, and they are losing money because of it! |

3. The P.S. The PostScript is a very important part of the sales letter. In fact, if you have one, most people will tend to read it before they ever read the sales letter. Your P.S. should be used to restate the offer, or to tell them about late-breaking news that can save them money! Here you could tell them about your sale price, etc. Again, many businesses are not using the P.S. in their letters. Don’t make this mistake. Maybe your P.S. just says, “If you are reading this P.S. before you have read the rest of the sales letter, shame on you. Now, go to the first page and begin reading there! You will be glad you did!”
4. The Order Form. This obviously should always be present! You need to tell people to place an order. Also, you can use your order form to put a little more sales punch in your presentation. You can sum the offer up one last time on the order form.

Testimonials are, without a doubt, one of the most powerful tools a marketer can utilize in his or her copy. Testimonials supply proof - proof that the product being offered can really bring about the benefits the copy claims are possible.
And the more powerful and convincing the testimonial is, the more they’re going to have an influence on that prospect and make them want to buy what you offer!

A testimonial from someone who was a true skeptic is a powerful thing, especially if they can show how dramatically negative their attitude toward the product was when they initially heard of it.
The true power lies in the fact that the customer really was negative, but their attitude was changed by seeing the product in action. The skeptical prospects out there will instantly identify with the negative point of view and the person relating it, and when it leads to a great outcome, they will be much more convinced of your product’s power.
You can get testimonials like this from customers, but some of the best and most convincing we’ve seen have actually not come from the customers themselves but immediate family members. One of our personal favorites we’ve read was actually from the point of view of a man’s wife who had a very, very negative mindset towards moneymaking opportunities, but her husband finally found a good one and she had her whole attitude switched around.
A testimonial of this sort is also powerful for another reason - there are many prospects out there, particularly in the moneymaking opportunities market - that get nagged by their spouses, family, and friends because of their passion.
They’re constantly getting criticized for “wasting” their money. Prospects will instantly identify with the situation presented in the testimonial, and when they see that the product being offered stopped the griping in one situation, and replaced it with happiness, they’re going to be very excited about what your product might be able to do for them! |
