Remember, this is just a hobby that you’re engaging in for two hours a day. My suggestion is that you get up an hour early and then go to bed an hour later than you normally go to bed. Two hours a day!
Just for fun, start trying to create what you think is the perfect ad or sales letter. You don’t need an actual product or service. All you have to do is ask yourself, what would the product or service have? If I had the perfect product or service, what would it be? Or, how would I sell it?
Then, just write the sales material to sell it. Just do it for fun so you don’t have that pressure on you all the time. Then, take this sales material that you’ve created along with your swipe file and find ways to adapt it in an actual product or service. As you fine tune it and test it, you can make tremendous amounts of money with this!
Now here is the thing I want to share with you. Two hours every day can add up, and if you just make this part of your regular schedule, and you do it religiously, each year you are going to invest over 700 hours developing these skills.
That’s what these things are; they are skills. It takes skill to do this kind of stuff! Anybody can do it, but think about it - just two hours a day. That’s almost like working 18 different 40 hour work weeks every year, and all you have to do is just invest a couple hours a day. Why Your Price Of Admission Should Be High ... VERY High!
Next, you want to put a high price on membership to join - and we mean a high price. We recommend $100 plus, and we’re serious about that. The higher the price any item is, the more people value it.
We have been in the publishing bus- iness long enough. We have published trade magazines that are given away free. Every free magazine we ever published had a cover price, and it was a higher price than you would normally pay for a magazine at the newsstand, even though, by subscribing and giving me demographic information, you got it for free.
That’s how this works. People aren’t going to do that and sign up and want to sign up if you don’t put a value on it. We used to do a little flyer that we handed out as a newspaper that said across the top, “FREE” and people literally threw them away. They valued it at nothing because you valued it at nothing. So, put a high price on membership.
Next, give memberships away with a minimum purchase on your regular web site. Add it in as a bonus. The higher the price you put on it, the bigger the value of this bonus that you’re giving people when they purchase a product or a service from you.
Next, follow the lead of people who are out there winning already. We are thinking in terms of American Express. Add some member rewards for remaining a member. Discounts, for example - additional discounts in addition to what they normally get. Points for purchases that are added up, as they make more purchases from you, towards either special free gifts, or when they reach a certain level or number of points it actually moves them up into a higher level of discount.
Build this up into a club that people want to belong to and value. Give it away for purchases and you will literally knock customers through your doors like crazy, and keep them coming back.

23 Rules For Writing “Killer” Headlines!
Following are 23 rules you can use to write headlines that will reach out and force the prospect to read your advertisement:
1. Your headline must offer something that your target market wants very badly.
2. Your headline must include something of self-interest to the reader.
3. If your product is new or improved, say so in the headline.
4. Do not just invoke curiosity in your headline, you must also include something of interest to the reader.
5. Avoid negativity in your headline. Always turn the negative into a positive statement.
6. Your headline should suggest a quick and easy way to achieve the benefit(s) stated.
7. Your headline should be believable.
8. Determine what would make you buy your product, and then try to incorporate that idea into your headline.
9. Avoid making your headline so short that you don’t get the main point across.
10. Avoid clever headlines that make the reader think “how clever.” Cleverness rarely gets people to read your ad or spend money.

18. NEVER trust your own reaction to your headlines. Instead, get the reaction of someone else.
19. If you emphasize a word in your headline, make sure that word means something and is important.
20. Remember that large-type words act as a stopper. They get people to stop and pay attention, so choose the best words that will get the most attention.
21. Don’t let an artist or layout person decide which headline words to emphasize. An artist thinks in terms of color contrasts and tones, not in terms of making money!

The real secret to getting through to the catalog house people is to do their work for them. Remember, they are just employees. They are not going to kill themselves to make sure the very best products get into the catalog. They are not like company owners who know that the life or death of the company could be at hand and will do everything in their power to make sure EVERYTHING that sounds even remotely good makes it into the catalog.
If you can do their work for them, you cut down on what they have to do, which will gain you an easier entry into the catalog.

Small ads can give you tremendous leverage. You can run more of them in more publications more often because smaller ads are cheaper to develop and run.
Your overall advertising could be extremely profitable by advertising in many publications with small ads instead of using the same money on a larger ad that you can only afford to run in a few publications.
Let’s say that you have a small ad placed in a hundred different publications every month. In this article, I’m going to cover five amazing methods for multiplying your online profits with zero risk. These are things you can do to your Internet web site to immediately increase the profits you’re making without doing a lot of extra work.
1. Create two versions of your Internet product.
A lot of people say, “Look, I’ve just got one version. Here it is for $295.00.” That’s okay, but you can instantly increase your profits by offering a deluxe package as well.
A friend of ours did this with a free advertising course he was offering. He sold it for $295.00 for a long time. He realized that he was losing a lot of money, though, by not offering a deluxe package.
He included an additional manual that cost him about $5.00 to include with the package. He then said, “Look, if you want the additional manual, just pay me an extra $200.00 for the deluxe package.”

Think of all the money he was losing because he just offered a basic package! Whatever product you are working on and selling, we recommend you think about creating two or three different versions of that package. By doing so you’re going to get some people that just want to stick with the basic. Other people want to upgrade to the deluxe, and you might even have a gold and a platinum package!
The one thing I like about creating two versions of your product is that it allows you to get some sales from people who want to spend a little more money, or don’t mind spending a little more money to get a more advanced version.
Perhaps you’re sitting there thinking, “I have one product but I don’t know what else I could add to it to enhance it and give it more value, and to charge more.” Try stripping something away from it and charging less!
If you have a $295.00 package right now, try taking something out and making a lower priced package that sells for $195.00. It will just includes less of the material you had in the previous version.

Don’t always think that you have to add something and create a higher priced package. Many times you can take something out. You might only include audio tapes if you have audio tapes and a full book or course that goes along with it. You could only include the audio tapes for $195.00 or $95.00, and then include the whole package for the price that you’re selling it for now.
Don’t always think you have to come up with more material. Sometimes you can reverse that and take some items out and sell the package for a cheaper price.
2. Turn a letter that works into a sequence.
Much of the time in print mail we just send out one letter and that’s it. The great thing about the Internet is you can send out sequences of letters.
There is a gentleman I know that has a web site, and he sells a product for $1,000.00. he knows every sale is going to take some real effort!
He has taken his proven sales letter on the Internet and he gone back to those customers again, and again, and again with that sales letter ... nine times at last count!

Now, he doesn’t hit them all in a week! He hits them over a period of a month or two. Since the Internet is so inexpensive to market with, and there are many automatic tools out there to help, he can go back to those people nine times and get the maximum profits possible.
Don’t just send out to people once! Turn a great letter into a sequence of letters! Remember, e-mail marketing is low-cost or no cost! You can do it! Sequence your e-mail sales letters a number of times!
3. Up-sell on your Internet order form.
This is something I don’t see being done very much, but it is a great idea. Picture this: you’ve got the person, they want to order, they hit the submit button and up pops another screen, “Hey! Now that you’ve ordered maybe you’d like to add this $10.00 book ... This $20.00 audio package ... This $100.00 video tape package.”
Do it immediately, while they’re in the buying mood! Just add that package right after your order form. You don’t even have to come up with your own product.
One thing a friend of ours did on his site is, as soon as they hit that “submit” button, it took them to another page with affiliate programs. He could say, “Hey! You were interested in the product. Here are some affiliate programs that deal with the same topic. Click there and go and see what they have!”

He’s found it amazing that he could be sitting on his computer, and up would pop an e-mail message with that person’s order form. In the next 30-45 minutes he would get another e-mail from that affiliate company saying, “Hey! Good customer purchased that program for $200.00.” He had made two sales just by offering them that other sale right after the order form.
Try to put yourself in the customer’s mind, and think about when they’ve already filled out the order form. How many times have you gone to an order form and, once you’ve thought about filling it, concluded that, “I don’t want to enter all that information again.”
People are lazy! If you make it easy to send an e-mail stating, “Hey! I want this, too,” then that customer doesn’t have to enter that information again!
4. Mail more often.
E-mail marketing is low-cost or no cost. Don’t mail to your people every month, two months, or three months. Go to them with more offers. The more offers you go to them with, the more responsive they’ll become. You’ll train them to look for your offers and to purchase from you more.
5. Test raising your prices or your fees.
It doesn’t matter what you’re selling, you need to test. Some of the best ways to find out what works or what doesn’t work is simply by testing. You’ll never know the best price of a product unless you test!

When you write your copy, always use the “They have a problem, you have the solution” approach. Why? Because you can make money from people’s problems!
Most products or services solve some sort of problem for the people who buy it. The most successful products and services solve big problems that certain people and certain markets have.
Try to think about the problem from their point of view. Put yourself in their shoes. Feel what they feel. The more you’re able to do this, the more you’re able to get in touch with their problems. Then you can offer your product or service as the solution. When you’ve successfully seen the situation from their point of view, your copy can become much more intimate to the readers because you’re speaking their language.

How You Can Sell Products Through Using Internet Auctions - WITHOUT EVER PUTTING THE PRODUCT ON THE AUCTION BLOCK!
Here’s a successful technique that we’ve seen - we have noticed on the auction sites that people seem to be more open to something that’s very specific and hand-written, even if they don’t know who you are, than they would be if you just sent them an e-mail, out of the blue, offering to sell an item.
Here’s a neat trick we’ve seen that works: you have an item that is very similar or the exact same thing that has just sold on an auction. You’re watching that item. Look and see if it’s for sale, if someone else has sold it - watch who bid the second lowest and didn’t win.
Then, e-mail them an offer that you have the same item and you’d be happy to sell it to them for the same price as the other one went for. This is an excellent way to introduce prospects to items that are similar. You can do that in jewelry, for example. Here’s one of the most unusual tactics we’ve come across to get sales - but one that, according to big-time booksellers Prentice Hall, is a way you could get 250% to 400% more orders!
A friend of ours met with some people from Prentice Hall at an American Bookseller Association Convention in Washington, D.C. One of Prentice Hall’s vice presidents told him that he would get between 250% and 400% more orders for his books if he was willing to sell them for no money down.
