In our business, we do a lot of lead generation advertising, mainly through magazines, postcards, classified ads, and display ads. When we get someone to respond to our lead generation advertising, we then set them up in a sequence of letters.

For example, we may have a classified ad that offers a free report. They will contact an 800 number and leave their name and address. We have a company that transcribes those names and addresses for us and e-mails them to us on a daily basis. Then, we will mail to them the report. Let’s say we get one hundred leads one day. Out of those one hundred, we’ll have “X” amount that will buy from the first report. We’ll still have some that requested it that did not buy. So, three weeks later we’ll send them a second report. We’ve got some campaigns where we’re up to a sequence of five and six letters after they become a lead.

As you fine tune it and test it, you can make tremendous amounts of money with this!

Now here is the thing I want to share with you. Two hours every day can add up, and if you just make this part of your regular schedule, and you do it religiously, each year you are going to invest over 700 hours developing these skills.

That’s what these things are; they are skills. It takes skill to do this kind of stuff! Anybody can do it, but think about it - just two hours a day. That’s almost like working 18 different 40 hour work weeks every year, and all you have to do is just invest a couple hours a day. How You Can Sell Products Through Using Internet Auctions - WITHOUT EVER PUTTING THE PRODUCT ON THE AUCTION BLOCK!

Here’s a successful technique that we’ve seen - we have noticed on the auction sites that people seem to be more open to something that’s very specific and hand-written, even if they don’t know who you are, than they would be if you just sent them an e-mail, out of the blue, offering to sell an item.

Here’s a neat trick we’ve seen that works: you have an item that is very similar or the exact same thing that has just sold on an auction. You’re watching that item. Look and see if it’s for sale, if someone else has sold it - watch who bid the second lowest and didn’t win.

Then, e-mail them an offer that you have the same item and you’d be happy to sell it to them for the same price as the other one went for. You can do this! You don’t have to have a joke-of-the-day, but some of the other entertainment and fun services and markets that we have noticed are 1) horoscopes. There is software that you can get for free or almost free that will put the horoscopes on your site. A lot of people are adding this to their site. They don’t necessarily have an astrology site, but they just put the horoscope on there as part of the site. One site that does this, for example, is a match site where you match up with people. It is not an adult thing in any way. It is very wholesome. They have a horoscope on there that says, “Check your love compatibility horoscope.”

Nothing serious about it. No product delivered. All electrons.

A friend of ours has a website where he reviews wines. He’s finally loading the photos in there. He has the Sony Mavica camera, which he bought it at Office Depot. He snaps a picture, he pulls out a disk, he loads it into his computer, and BOOM the photo of the bottle of wine is on his site. Then he writes a short blurb.

The wines are written about in many magazines and newsletters. One man has a newsletter about wine. It is $40.00 a year, and he has thirty thousand subscribers and makes over a million dollars a year just writing about how tasty these wines are! And, all the wineries send him the wines for free.

Our friend’s site will be like that but it won’t be in print. It will be free, but he’ll sell advertising. Same idea.

Now, let’s talk about on-line news releases and articles. There are thousands of magazines called “E-zines” and newsletters published on-line. These are great, great sources of free advertising. Newsletters are popping up all over the place in cyberspace.

This is a wonderful way to get free publicity, and we feel it’s something that you should get busy doing.

Don’t try to convince yourself that you can’t write articles or news releases - YOU CAN! If you absolutely convince yourself you can’t, then, of course, you won’t do it. You can get someone to write them for you. You can also gather information from other sites and rework the information so it’s not plagiarized, or you can get government information that is copyright free and make up some articles with those. We encourage you do to this because you can get hundreds and hundreds and hundreds (maybe even thousands) of E-zines and newsletters to publish what you want to produce - and the news releases you send them can make you rich!

Two Great Ways To Promote Your Offers On Other People’s Websites!

When it comes to promoting your offers, your informational products, or other types of products and services on other people’s web sites, there are two main ways to do it.

The first is you make it available to them and they promote it, they get the order, they share the money with you, and you drop ship to the customer. If you can’t just send it online, then you do the actual mailing of it.

That’s good, but a better way is if they will get what seems to be an independent testimonial and endorsement for your product and put a link on their site that takes the people from their site to your site, where you then make the sale yourself.

Some people won’t do this for you because they don’t know you, and they don’t know if you’ll pay them. But once they have confidence in you, this is a better way. Then you have their testimonial - their endorsement of your product - and you don’t want just an ad on their site. You want a testimonial. And because people are lazy and they’re busy, you send them the great endorsement. Then you give them the right to edit it if they want.

It is much better, though, if they’ll link to you and then you make the sale. You didn’t tell them that you wouldn’t pay a commission to the sites that sent them, it appears it’s an independent, unbiased recommendation.

Most people will want to do it the first way. They’ll want to make the sale, and then split the money with you, with you taking care of fulfilling it. But once you build up some rapport, you like to do it the other way where they read the glowing testimonial on this other site, and then that site lets them link to your site where you make the sale. And of course, you still pay the commission. So we think that this is an idea that many people can accomplish.

In a marketing test, an Internet company ran an ad on their site. They were prepared to give away $2,000 in one hundred dollar bills. Here’s the ad:

“Free $100 Bill - Yes, it is true! We will send you a crisp, new, real $100 bill if you act quickly. All you have to do to receive this $100 bill is to pay $10.95 for overnight delivery. Act now, this offer is legitimate but it is limited!”

Holy cow! Guess what? Nobody took advantage of this offer! Not one single person. They were prepared to give away a couple thousand dollars at $100 a hit, but nobody asked for a free $100 bill.

Now I ask you, would you spend $10.95 for delivery by UPS or FedEx to get $100? Of course you would! I know that I would!

Why didn’t anyone take advantage of this super offer? In a nutshell, nobody believed the ad. Nobody thought that anybody in their right mind would give away hundred dollar bills! This situation comes down to trust and credibility - or the lack of trust and credibility at any rate.

That’s the reason most people are not buying from YOU on the Internet, or not buying from YOU often enough, regardless of what you’re selling. You’re not selling hundred dollar bills, but you have merchandise, products, information, and other such items.

To increase your sales you’ve got to build trust and credibility. Regardless of how good your ad or sales material is, folks won’t buy unless they really believe they can trust you. You must bend over backwards to show people you’re worth their confidence and trust.

Here are six ways (there are more, I’m sure) to build the kind of trust that is vital to your success.

1) Identify yourself.

The web can be a very personal or impersonal media. You want to make it personal. Don’t hide behind a company name. If you’re A & B Marketing because your name is Al and your wife is Bonnie, you should display a photo of Al and Bonnie to show that you are real live human beings. That’s who people want to do business with.

2) Make it very, very, very easy to contact you.

List your physical address, your e-mail address, your fax and phone. Let everyone know how easily and quickly they can get in touch with you.

3) Whenever possible, offer free samples.

This is easy to do if you’re selling information products. You let people see a couple of the reports you have, or maybe let them download a chapter from a book you have. If you’re selling regular products this technique is a little bit more difficult to use. Then you have to use a different approach.

For example, if you’re selling watches that you import from Hong Kong or Taiwan you can’t give away samples. Still, you can have a thorough description of the product on your site, plus one or more sharp, clear photos of the product. These things are very important when selling merchandise!

4) Provide feedback.

You want the testimonials of other people who are satisfied with the business they’ve done with you. Great testimonials from happy customers build confidence and trust.

5) Offer a powerful money-back guarantee.

Leave no question or doubt in the potential buyer’s mind - no five or ten day nonsense! Your guarantee should be at least 30 days and it should be absolute. It should be completely risk-free to the buyer. This builds great confidence.
